The new original anime, Virgin Punk , had its release date announced to fans on social media after an interview in Newtype . The work is created by Yasuomi Umetsu , the same director of Kite (1998) and Mezzo Forte (2000).
With impeccable animation, Virgin Punk has an early release in theaters on June 27, 2025. The first episode was titled Clockwork Girl .
In recent years, Umetsu has contributed as an opening and ending director to several popular series and as an animator, demonstrating his versatility. Now, he announces Virgin Punk, his first major animation project in approximately 10 years.
