Aniplex in the United States has released a new teaser for Virgin Punk: Clockwork Girl Part 1, revealing more about the mystery surrounding Ubu. The film, directed by Yasuomi Umetsu and animated by Studio SHAFT , premiered in theaters on November 11 and 13, 2025.
The production marks Umetsu's return as director after a decade. Furthermore, the creator joins forces with SHAFT, known for hits like Madoka Magica and Monogatari , to deliver a completely original project. The script is by Yuya Takahashi , who explores Ubu's emotional turmoil as she faces a world driven by extreme technology.
The story takes place in 2099 Somadea medical technology transforms humans into veritable weapons. However, at the same time, illegal modifications amplify crime. Therefore, the government creates the Bounty Hunter System.
Ubu Kamigori operates precisely in this brutal setting. On the other hand, her life changes when the enigmatic Mr. Elegance reappears. Thus, the protagonist's destiny begins to unravel amidst violence, difficult choices, and a new conspiracy.
