The first trailer for the Live-Action “ Kite ” has been released. The trailer is presented by renowned Hollywood actor Samuel L. Jackson who explains the importance of the project.

Kite, a live-action adaptation of Yasuomi Umetsu's OVAs, follows a young woman living in a post-financial meltdown world where a corrupt security force profits from trafficking girls. When her father, a police officer, is killed by a corrupt cop, she vows revenge and sets out to find the perpetrator with the help of her father's former partner.

After the death of David R. Ellis, who was to be the director, South African Ralph Ziman took over as director of Kite. The Weinstein Co. is expected to release the film in the US later this year.
