The first trailer for the live-action film " Kite " has been released. The trailer is presented by renowned Hollywood actor Samuel L. Jackson, who explains the importance of the project.
Kite, a live-action adaptation of Yasuomi Umetsu's OVAs, tells the story of a young girl living in a post-financial collapse world, where a corrupt security force profits from trafficking girls. When her father, a police officer, is killed by a corrupt cop, she vows revenge and sets out to find the culprit with the help of her father's former partner.
After the death of David R. Ellis, who was to be the director, South African Ralph Ziman took over directing Kite. The Weinstein Company is expected to release the film in the US later this year.
