During halftime of the Super Bowl 2014 , the long-awaited first trailer for Transformers 4 – Age of Extinction was shown.
In the plot, with humanity trying to rebuild itself four years after the conclusion of Transformers 3: The Dark Side of the Moon, Autobots and Decepticons disappear from the face of the Earth. However, a powerful group of scientists and entrepreneurs, seeking to learn from the Transformers' past invasions, ends up pushing the barriers of technology beyond their control. At the same time, a new Transformer threat puts Earth in its sights.
Nicola Peltz (The Last Airbender) will play the teenage daughter of Mark Wahlberg's character, while Jack Reynor will play her race car driver boyfriend. Stanley Tucci plays a scientist; Kelsey Grammer plays the villain, Harold Attinger, an industrial spy, and Sophia Myles, from Angels of the Night, also plays a scientist.
Transformers 4 is scheduled for release on June 27th in the USA and July 18th in Brazil.
