The website for director Makoto Shinkai film Weathering with You ( Tenki no Ko ) has begun showing a new preview of the anime . The video begins by showing a retrospective of the director's previous works, and then, a preview of the new film.
“In the summer of his freshman year of high school, Hokoda runs away from his remote island home of Tokyo and quickly finds himself pushed to his financial and personal limits. The weather is exceptionally gloomy and rainy every day, as if to hint at its future. He lives out his days in isolation, but eventually finds work as a writer for a mysterious occult magazine. Then one day, Hokoda meets Hina on a busy street corner. This bright and strong girl possesses a strange and wonderful ability: the power to stop the rain and clear the sky…”
The film Weathering with you, which premieres on July 19 in Japan, features animation from the studio CoMix Wave , and also with the presence of the band RADWIMPS , who is responsible for the anime's music.
Finally Shinkai also promises a novel that will adapt the film, he said it will be available both digitally and in print on July 18th.
