The anime adaptation of the light novel Welcome to Japan, Ms. Elf! (Nihon and Youkoso Elf-san) got a new trailer this Thursday (28).
Therefore, the anime Welcome to Japan Ms. Elf! (Nihon and Youkoso Elf-san) premieres on January 10, 2025 with animation from studio ZERO-G ( Grand Blue, Tenkuu Shinpan ).
Synopsis:
Since Kazuhiro Kitase's childhood, he has always been enveloped by visions of a realm of wonder. As a young 25-year-old salaryman, he immerses himself in this fantastic universe alongside his inseparable elf friend, Marie. However, a tragic encounter with a dragon claims their lives. Surprisingly, they awaken in their home in Japan, only to discover a peculiar phenomenon: every time they fall asleep or perish in the fantastic world, they return to Japan. Thus, they have the opportunity to revisit this magical universe through sleep. Switching between realities, Kazuhiro helps Marie adapt to modern Japanese life and accompanies them on challenging journeys through the realm of fantasy. Over time, they also guide others back to Japan, in an exciting saga of discoveries and adventures.
The work written by Makishima Suzuki and illustrated by Yappen, began its online serialization in 2017 on the novel publishing website, Shōsetsuka ni Narō. Hobby Japan acquired the work and released the first volume in August 2018 under its HJ Novels imprint. They have released a total of nine volumes as of October 2023. Additionally, a manga , with art by Shimo Aono, being made available on Hobby Japan's Comic Fire website starting in December 2018.
