Dandadan has proved to be a manga completely out of the curve. Created by Yukinobu Tatsu, he mixes aliens, spirits, psychic powers, scared comedy and intense action scenes in a universe where anything can happen. Within this logic, the emergence of an entity called Human-Taphão seems just another chapter of bizarre.

- Dandadan 197: The Insane air battle against the human-human
But the truth is that this creature marks an important turn in the narrative and represents a much more serious threat than appears at first glance. The name already indicates the danger: a being that moves like a true typhoon, destroying everything in its way with absurd violence.
Unlike other previously presented creatures, which often had some motivation or even comical characteristics, the tuffan human emerges as a pure force of destruction. He does not speak, does not negotiate, has no logic. Just devastates.
In which chapter of Dandadan the human-tuffon appears
The first appearance of the human-taphon happens in chapter 194 of the manga. This arc already shows a climb in the severity of spiritual threats. Until then, the protagonists faced a mixture of yokais, ghosts and aliens, but all within a certain control. With the tough human, this balance breaks.
It arises in the midst of a sequence of intense combat inside a plane and appears as a new spiritual entity of a completely chaotic nature. There is no formal introduction. It simply appears, as if invoked by a collapse between worlds, and begins to act like a natural monster disaster. His presence causes immediate destruction, creating sharp winds around him and demanding that the protagonists think fast if they want to survive.
The design of the character also reinforces this idea of chaos. It has humanoid traits, but the body rotates at very high speed, creating a kind of continuous wind vortex. The human name is not just aesthetic, it is literal: it is a living storm in the form of a creature.
What makes the human-tuffon so impactful
What makes the human-taphon stand out is not only his physical power, but what he represents within the world of Dandadan. It symbolizes the total collapse of logic. If until then the protagonists were able to face threats with a combination of courage, spiritual power and luck, now they come across something that goes beyond everything they have ever faced. From the moment he enters the story, it is clear that the rules have changed.
In addition, the tuft human marks a new stage in the escalation of power of the manga. It is a kind of watershed: everything that comes after it is more intense, more dangerous and more unpredictable. It requires the main characters new strategies, more emotional and physical preparation, and even sacrifices. Its existence also expands the universe of the work, showing that there are still unknown and uncontrollable forces to lurking.
Has he already appeared in the anime?
So far, the tough human has not yet appeared in the Anime of Dandadan. The first season, aired between October and December 2024, adapts only the first arches in history, going to about chapter 40. As the human-human only appears in chapter 194, he is very ahead in the chronology.
The second season of the anime debuts in July 2025, but it is highly unlikely that this creature arises in it, unless adaptation significantly accelerates the rhythm of the narrative. If anime maintains the pattern of adaptation of about 40 chapters per season, the human-human should only appear from a possible fourth or up to the fifth season if the production is continuously renewed.
What we can expect for the future of the creature
It is still early to say for sure what will be the full role of the human-human inside the plot, but its initial appearance already leaves important clues. It can only be a temporary manifestation of spiritual collapse that intensifies in that bow, or may represent something larger, a kind of foreshadowing of older and more dangerous forces that have not yet been explored.
Yukinobu Tatsu usually uses spiritual entities such as metaphors, whether to represent trauma, fears, emotional or social imbalances. In this sense, the human-human can be an allegory to the uncontrollable chaos that arises when barriers between worlds break. This paves the way for it to appear in future arches or even for even more extreme versions of the same spiritual energy.
