Dandadan has already proven itself to be a completely different manga. Created by Yukinobu Tatsu, it blends aliens, spirits, psychic powers, risqué comedy, and intense action scenes in a universe where anything can happen. Within this logic, the emergence of an entity called a human-typhoon seems like just another chapter of bizarreness.

But the truth is that this creature marks a major turning point in the narrative and poses a much more serious threat than it first appears. The name already hints at the danger: a being that moves like a veritable typhoon, destroying everything in its path with absurd violence.

Unlike other creatures previously introduced, which often had some motivation or even comical characteristics, the human-typhoon emerges as a pure force of destruction. He doesn't speak, doesn't negotiate, and has no logic. He simply devastates.

In which chapter of Dandadan does the human-typhoon appear?

The human-typhoon first appears in chapter 194 of the manga. This arc already shows an escalation in the severity of spiritual threats. Until then, the protagonists faced a mix of yokai, ghosts, and aliens, but all within a certain control. With the human-typhoon, this balance is shattered.

He appears amidst a sequence of intense combat inside a plane, appearing as a new spiritual entity of a completely chaotic nature. There's no formal introduction. He simply appears, as if summoned by a collapse between worlds, and begins to act like a natural disaster in the form of a monster. His presence causes immediate destruction, creating cutting winds around him and requiring the protagonists to think quickly if they want to survive.

The character's design also reinforces this idea of chaos. He has humanoid features, but his body spins at extremely high speeds, creating a kind of continuous wind vortex. The human-typhoon name isn't just aesthetic, it's literal: he's a living storm in creature form.

What makes the human typhoon so impactful

What makes the human-typhoon stand out is not only his physical power, but what he represents within the world of Dandadan. He symbolizes the complete collapse of logic. If until now the protagonists were able to face threats with a combination of courage, spiritual power, and luck, now they face something that surpasses anything they've ever faced. From the moment he enters the story, it's clear that the rules have changed.

Furthermore, the human-typhoon marks a new stage in the manga's escalation of power. He's a kind of watershed moment: everything that comes after him is more intense, more dangerous, and more unpredictable. He demands new strategies from the main characters, greater emotional and physical preparation, and even sacrifices. His existence also expands the universe of the work, demonstrating that unknown and uncontrollable forces still lurk.

Has he ever appeared in the anime?

To date, the human-typhoon has not yet appeared in the Dandadan anime. The first season, which aired between October and December 2024, only adapts the first few story arcs, running up to approximately chapter 40. Since the human-typhoon only appears in chapter 194, he is significantly ahead in the chronology.

The anime's second season premieres in July 2025, but it's highly unlikely this creature will appear in it unless the adaptation significantly speeds up the narrative pace. If the anime maintains its adaptation pattern of around 40 chapters per season, the human-typhoon should only appear starting in a possible fourth or even fifth season, if the production is renewed continuously.

What can we expect for the creature's future?

It's still too early to say for sure what the typhoon-human's full role will be within the plot, but his initial appearance already leaves important clues. He may be merely a temporary manifestation of the spiritual collapse that intensifies in that arc, or he may represent something larger, a sort of harbinger of older, more dangerous forces that have yet to be explored.

Yukinobu Tatsu often uses spiritual entities as metaphors, whether to represent trauma, fear, emotional or social imbalances. In this sense, the typhoon-human can be an allegory for the uncontrollable chaos that arises when the barriers between worlds break down. This paves the way for him to reappear in future arcs, or even for even more extreme versions of the same spiritual energy to emerge.
