Who are the Quincy that appear in the new Bleach saga?
Check it out:
Quincy are the opposite of Shinigami
The Quincy have strength and abilities close to those of Shinigami, making them spiritual beings who hunt Hollows that roam the earth. But in many other respects, the Quincy go to great lengths to distinguish themselves from Shinigami. Quincy can be half-blood or pure-blood, with half-bloods being humans with spiritual powers, such as Ichigo's friendly rival Uryu Ishida, and they have a distinct view of Hollows. Shinigami see Hollows as corrupt spirits to be purified, while Quincy see them as monsters to be annihilated.
The Quincy use their powers to completely obliterate the Hollows, disrupting the balance of spirits moving between soul society and the living world. The Quincy way is unsustainable, but they persist anyway.
Revenge of the Quincy
However, the Quincy and Shinigami clashed several hundred years ago over whether the Quincy should be allowed to continue destroying Hollows in this way, and the Quincy refused to change their ways. Hollows are lethally poisonous to them, so ruthless extermination of them was the only method the Quincy could use in the fight against such beings.
Yhwach was the king and founder of all the Quincy, but after his fellow Quincy lost the war against the Shinigami, he fell into a deep sleep. But in 999 years, he would be ready for revenge, and after Sosuke Aizen's defeat in the fake Karakura Town, Yhwach's countdown was almost at 0.
Reishi Absorption: Although both Shinigami and Quincy use Reiryoku when fighting, their fighting styles are completely opposite. A Quincy uses Reishi from the atmosphere and combines it with their Reiryoku to create weapons. They fight with the external energy. It's easier for them to collect this energy in environments with high concentrations of spiritual particles, such as Soul Society and Hueco Mundo. For sufficiently experienced Quincy, there's no difference between spiritual particles and sourced spiritual energy.
Spiritual Weapon: Their weapons are created by gathering reishi. The only limit to a Quincy's ability to create and fire arrows is their own stamina and ability to absorb spiritual particles from the environment.
Spiritual Awareness: Because they are spiritual, they can see and sense Hollows and other spiritual beings at a significant distance or tell which direction they are in.
Thousand Year Blood War arc is therefore the concluding arc of the Bleach manga Tite Kubo , which covers volumes 55-74.
Synopsis:
After a series of murders in the Hollow and several disappearances in the Rukongai district, it is revealed that the Quincy were actually alive. To jog their memory, the Quincy are an order of reishi-manipulating human mediums who kill Hollows rather than purify them like the Soul Society. They are thought to have been killed by the Society en masse 1,000 years ago, with the exception of the Ishida family.
Author Tite Kubo launched the Bleach manga in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2001, and ended it in August 2016.
