Japanese publisher Kodansha announced the winners of the 44th annual Kodansha Manga Awards.

The prizes for each author include a certificate, a bronze silhouette, and 1 million Yen (approximately R$54,922 at the current exchange rate). The selection committee consisted of Ken Akamatsu, Tochi Ueyama, Oh! great (Oogure), Atsushi Kase, Akiko Higashimura, Yūji Moritaka, and Waki ​​Yamato.

Synopsis:

Watching the news, Takemichi Hanagaki discovers that his elementary school sweetheart, Hinata Tachibana, has died. Synopsis:

Best Overall Manga: The Blue Period

Synopsis:

The story centers on Yatora Yaguchi, who feels empty and impatient despite his excellent grades and place in the highest caste of students. But one day he sees a photograph that captures his heart, and he throws himself into the beautiful, yet difficult, world of art. With his full knowledge, he plans to enter an art school.

 

 

 

 

The Blue Period has been published by Kodansha in Afternoon since June 2017, with story and art by Tsubasa Yamaguchi. (Kanojo to Kanojo no Neko)

Also nominated for best overall manga were: Skip to Loafer, Witch Hat Atelier, and Do not say mystery.

Last year's winners for Best Shonen Manga were The Quintessential Quintuplets by Negi Haruba and To Your Eternity by Yoshitoki Oima. Best Shoujo Manga went to Perfect World by Rie Aruga and Best Overall Manga to What Did You Eat Yesterday? by Fumi Yoshigana.
