Japanese publisher Kodansha announced the winners this Tuesday (12/05) of the 44th edition of the annual Kodansha Manga Awards .
Prizes for each author include a certificate, a bronze silhouette and 1 million Yenes ( around R$54,922 at current exchange rates ). The selection committee was made up of Ken Akamatsu, Tochi Ueyama, Oh! great ( Oogure ), Atsushi Kase, Akiko Higashimura, Yūji Moritaka, and Waki Yamato.
Best Shonen Manga: Tokyo Revengers
Synopsis:
Watching the news, Takemichi Hanagaki, discovers that his middle school sweetheart, Hinata Tachibana, has died. The only girlfriend he ever had was killed by a vicious group known as the Tokyo Manji Gang. He lives in a shitty apartment with thin walls, and his boss six years younger treats him like an idiot. Besides… Takemichi is a complete virgin. With his life at rock bottom, he suddenly travels 12 years into the past, to elementary school! To save Hinata, and change the life he lost running away, desperate part-time employee Takemichi must rise to the top of Kanto's most sinister gangs.

Best Shoujo Manga: Our Precious Conversations ( Boku to Kimi no Taisetsu na Hanashi )
Synopsis:
Nozomi Aizawa has kept her feelings for schoolmate Azuma-kun a secret for some time, but the time has come for her to confess. And his response was beyond ordinary! These two awkward teenagers become increasingly closer as they get tangled up in misunderstandings and aimless conversations. Our Precious Conversations has been published by Kodansha in Dessert since August 2015, with story and art by Robico . ( Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun )

Best Overall Manga: The Blue Period
Synopsis:
The story centers on Yatora Yaguchi, who feels empty and impatient despite his excellent grades and a place in the highest student caste. But one day he sees a photo that captures his heart, so he throws himself into the beautiful but difficult world of art. With his full knowledge, he plans to enter an art school.
The Blue period has been published by Kodansha on Afternoon since June 2017, with story and art by Tsubasa Yamaguchi . ( Kanojo to Kanojo no Neko )
Also nominated for best overall manga were: Skip to Loafer, Witch Hat Atelier, and Don't say mystery.
Last year the winners for Best Shonen Manga were The Quintessential Quintuplets by Negi Haruba and To Your Eternity by Yoshitoki Oima . Best Shoujo Manga went to Perfect World by Rie Aruga and Best Overall Manga went to What Did You Eat Yesterday? by Fumi Yoshigana .
