Wit Studio (Attack on Titan) has spoken out following criticism of the first episode of Ascendance of a Bookworm Part 3: Adopted Daughter of an Archduke . The premiere took place on April 4th and drew attention for possible signs of the use of artificial intelligence in the opening sequence.

According to the studio, an internal investigation confirmed that some background cuts in the opening sequence used generative AI . The company stated that it will manually redo these scenes and replace the opening with a finalized version starting with the second episode.

Studio acknowledges flaw in the process

Use of Artificial Intelligence – Wit Studio

Wit Studio explained that, as a rule, it does not allow the use of generative AI in its productions. The only exception was a previous experimental project. Even then, the problem occurred due to failures in supervision and internal quality control.

The studio also clarified that the core staff, including the art director and the studio NAM HAI ART, had no direct involvement in the incident. Aside from the opening sequence, there is no confirmation of AI use in the rest of the anime .

Production will continue with corrections

Based on the light novel by Miya Kazuki, the anime follows Rozemyne in a fantasy world focused on books. The new season is directed by Yoshiaki Iwasaki, replacing Mitsuru Hongō, and retains Mariko Kunisawa as screenwriter. The series will air continuously for two cours, totaling approximately six months. The soundtrack continues with MICHIRU, while the opening theme "Pages" is performed by Little Glee Monster.

In the end, the studio stated that it will review its processes to prevent future incidents. For more anime , follow AnimeNews.
