A Twitter user “パンダ (@Miku_miku_panda)” became famous after reporting his story in which his wife ended up discovering that he was an otaku Vocaloid fan known as Hatsune Miku . However he wrote:
Woman discovers her otaku husband's betrayal with Hatsune Miku
Check it out:
This is how my wife found out I'm an otaku:
- 1. My mood suddenly started to improve in mid-July (probably due to the proximity of the Magical Mirai event).
- 2. I would often leave the house without saying where I was going (I was getting excited as the Magical Mirai event approached, so I started going out for karaoke and buying merchandise).
- 3. I took my phone into the bathroom and even my showers lasted a little longer than usual (while I showered, I listened to my favorite songs and time passed).
- 4. I was late at work (I was looking for Miku products and spent some time at the karaoke practicing songs).
- 5. I took a trunk that I locked and kept it in my room (I kept my otaku stuff there because I didn't want them to know about my hobbies).
It appears that my wife decided to request the services of a private investigator because she thought she was having an affair. And as a result, the investigation report explained to her the following activities of her husband:
- a) The husband pays for sessions only in karaoke places;
- b) Her husband bought a happi (traditional Japanese clothing for supporting idols at shows) near the place where a show will be held;
- c) Her husband has been using Hatsune Miku gacha machines;
- d) Her husband bought some tickets for a lottery for Hatsune Miku products at Lawson stores.
The strange change in her husband's activities immediately raised his wife's suspicions, but the agency could not lie. There were no traces of payments from motels, restaurants or other establishments of a “questionable nature”. In fact, the report did just reveal his secret to his wife: he is an otaku fan of Hatsune Miku.
Finally the results of these investigations, the investigator contacted my wife and discovered that I was not cheating on her, but that I was an otaku. Fortunately, my wife understands my otaku hobby well and she didn't blame me for anything.
