Netflix revealed character designs and 2021 premiere date for Yasuke .
Synopsis
In a war-torn feudal Japan full of mecha and magic, the greatest ronin ever known, Yasuke, struggles to maintain a peaceful existence after a life of violence. Yasuke, a wanderer who once retired from battle, picks up the sword again to protect a mysterious boy whose life is targeted by an evil power. It is a fantasy period drama that portrays an African samurai who, in real history, served Oda Nobunaga.
Furthermore, the protagonist's story is based on the historical figure Yasuke, a samurai of African origin who served Oda Nobunaga during the Warring States period of Japan in the 16th century.
Lastly, LeSean Thomas is credited as creator, director, and executive producer on Yasuke. Flying Lotus is the soundtrack composer and executive producer. Lakeith will voice Yasuke. MAPPA studio ( Kakegurui ) will produce the animation.
