Young Japanese choose Oshi no Ko as the best anime of the 1st semester

The Japanese magazine PASH! carried out a survey among its readers to find out what their favorite anime releases were in the 1st half of this year. Shortly after completing the research, the magazine published a list of the 10 most popular anime among Japanese people, with Oshi no Ko in first place.

In this survey, the magazine selected Japanese people aged 16 to 22 in May to focus more on the opinion of young audiences. They all spoke about their favorite releases of 2023 so far, and Oshi no Ko came out as the best anime of this semester. However, other famous releases also topped the list, such as Demon Slayer and Tokyo Revengers.

Synopsis:

The story follows a doctor named Gorou , a fan of a 16-year-old “Idol” named Ai Hoshino . But one fine day Hoshino appears at her office, however, saying that she is pregnant with twins, but her manager tells her to abort the babies. But Idol doesn't want to have an abortion, she wants to have both children. Then Gorou promises her a safe birth. Little does he know that an encounter with a mysterious figure would result in his untimely death, or so he thought. However, upon opening his eyes in his beloved idol's lap, Gorou discovers that he has been reborn as Aquamarine Hoshino , the newborn son of Ai! With his world turned upside down, Gorou soon discovers that the world of showbiz is full of controversy, where talent doesn't always bring success.

Anyway , Akasaka and Yokoyari started the manga in Shueisha 's Young Jump in 2020. Volume 12 of the manga was published on March 17, 2023 in Japan.
