The Japanese magazine PASH! conducted a survey among its readers to find out their favorite anime releases in the first half of this year. Shortly after the survey was completed, the magazine published a list of the 10 most popular anime among Japanese readers, with Oshi no Ko in first place.

In this survey, the magazine selected Japanese people aged 16 to 22 in May to focus more on the opinions of younger audiences. They all shared their favorite releases of 2023 so far, and "Oshi no Ko" emerged as the best anime of the semester. However, other popular releases also topped the list, such as Demon Slayer and Tokyo Revengers.

Synopsis:
The story follows a doctor named Gorou , a fan of a 16-year-old idol named Ai Hoshino . One day, Hoshino shows up at his office, claiming she's pregnant with twins, but her manager tells her to abort the babies. The idol doesn't want to abort; she wants both children. So Gorou promises her a safe delivery. Little does he know that an encounter with a mysterious figure will result in his untimely death, or so he thought. However, upon opening his eyes in his beloved idol's arms, Gorou discovers he's been reborn as Aquamarine Hoshino , Ai's newborn son! With his world turned upside down, Gorou soon discovers that the world of showbiz is full of controversies, where talent doesn't always bring success.
Finally , Akasaka and Yokoyari started the manga in Shueisha 's Young Jump in 2020. Volume 12 of the manga was published on March 17, 2023 in Japan.
