Your Name – Lee Isaac Chung drops directing live-action

Due to scheduling conflicts, director Lee Isaac Chung will not direct the live-action Your Name ( Kimi No Na Wa ) film. According to the website Deadline, Paramount Pictures is now looking for a replacement to direct.

The site previously stated that Chung was brought into production on the film in September 2020, according to them, the director would also rewrite the live action script, based on a draft by Emily V. Gordon (The Big Sick).

The story of Your Name follows Mitsuha , the daughter of the mayor of a small town, who dreams of trying her luck in Tokyo. Taki works at a restaurant in Tokyo and wants to quit his job. The two don't know each other, but they are connected by the images from their dreams when they wake up.
