Your Name – Lee Isaac Chung drops out of directing the live-action film

Due to scheduling conflicts, director Lee Isaac Chung will not helm the live-action Your Name ( Kimi No Na Wa ). According to Deadline, Paramount Pictures is now searching for a replacement director.

The site previously stated that Chung was placed on the film's production in September 2020, according to them, the director would also rewrite the live-action script, based on a draft by Emily V. Gordon (The Big Sick).

Synopsis:

The story of Your Name follows Mitsuha , the daughter of a small town's mayor, who dreams of trying her luck in Tokyo. Taki works at a restaurant in Tokyo and wants to quit his job. The two don't know each other, but are connected by images from their dreams when they wake up.

Finally, Your Name by director Makoto Shinkai grossed $355 million at the worldwide box office and became the anime of 2017.
