Konami has officially announced that the “Yu-Gi-Oh! Early Days Collection” will be released on February 27, 2025, bringing at least eight classic games from the franchise to Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam. These titles were originally released between 1998 and 2003 on the Game Boy and Game Boy Advance platforms. This initiative by Konami aims to revive a nostalgic era for fans of the series, many of whom grew up playing these titles during the late 90s and early 2000s.

Konami's collection follows this trend by preserving the original gameplay while adding modern features, such as saving progress at any time. Additionally, it offers button remapping, making the experience more accessible to current players.

Furthermore, the addition of online mode in Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters 4: Battle of Great Duelist signals a possible future expansion of online functionality to other titles in the collection, which could attract even more players who enjoy competing globally. This could undoubtedly broaden the appeal of the collection to both long-time fans and new players.
