Capcom faced some curious obstacles in the development of Pragmata , especially in the creation of the little Diana . Recently, director Yonghee Cho shared the difficulties in conveying the android nature of the character without violating global norms.

Diana and her technological enigmas

Although Diana looks like an ordinary child, she functions as a central piece in solving technological puzzles. Cho wanted to emphasize her robotic side with more literal and daring visual expressions; however, the director explained that cultural restrictions and international regulations limited these creative choices.

Capcom – Pragmata

Was Diana inspired by Arale from Dr. Slump?

The team discarded extreme ideas, such as Diana removing her own head. This direct reference to Arale-chan in Dr. Slump was considered difficult to implement in a global release. Therefore, Capcom opted for a subtle approach, focusing on mechanical gestures and slightly unsettling behaviors.

The studio balances the cute visuals with the necessary "strangeness" for artificial intelligence. Finally, Pragmata will be released on April 24, 2026. Additionally, players can already try the free demo available on Steam for PC.
