It's no secret to any otaku that a good anime adaptation can give a huge boost to manga sales, as happened with Oshi no Ko . The new anime from HIDIVE became one of the biggest releases of this winter season. The Oshi no Ko manga also benefited from this success, achieving a new sales record.

The publisher Shueisha confirmed this week that the manga Oshi no Ko has sold over 7 million copies to date. This sales figure is a major record for the manga, thanks to the anime adaptation which has attracted worldwide attention, including in Brazil, although HIDIVE is no longer available there.

Synopsis:

The story follows a doctor named Gorou , a fan of a 16-year-old idol Ai Hoshino . One day, Hoshino appears at his office, claiming to be pregnant with twins, and her manager tells her to abort the babies. But the idol doesn't want an abortion; she wants to have both children. Gorou promises her a safe delivery. Little does he know that an encounter with a mysterious figure will result in his premature death, or so he thought. However, upon opening his eyes in the arms of his beloved idol, Gorou discovers that he has been reborn as Aquamarine Hoshino, 's newborn son ! With his world turned upside down, Gorou soon discovers that the world of showbiz is full of controversies, where talent doesn't always bring success.

Therefore, Akasaka and Yokoyari began the manga Shueisha 's Young Jump magazine in 2020. Furthermore, the publisher released the sixth compiled book volume in November 2021.
