Shingeki-no-Kyojin-off-2014

2013 was a great year for an unusual anime debut, and that's what happened with Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack on Titan). We believe that nerd culture, especially otaku culture, needed this: a different anime for a new generation, different from the classics Naruto, One Piece, and others.

Shingeki no Kyojin, or Attack on Titan for the more seasoned, was the most-watched anime on Japanese TV in 2013 and the second best-selling manga of the year. What were fans expecting in 2014? The answer couldn't be anything else: a second season, to further delve into the story of Eren and his group as described in the manga. Unfortunately, this is unlikely to happen this year.

According to a recent interview with The Nikkei , the president of Wit Studio, Joji Wada , stated that he wants to see more animated episodes of the series, given that the manga is almost being overtaken by its anime adaptation. Unfortunately, when this happens, studios often create the dreaded filler episodes, which was not an option for Wit Studio.

Joji Wada stated that he is working on OVAs to release with limited editions of the manga, and that the series is very close to the original story. Because of this, it would be impossible to produce a second season of the Attack on Titan anime this year.

Unfortunately, friends... let's sit down, eat some pizza and watch some other anime, and of course, keep our fingers crossed that the anime will return in 2015 or maybe at the very end of 2014.
