Yuki Nagano of Studio Durian confirmed that the company plans to produce a feature-length film adaptation of Shishigari . However, Nagano stated that the film is in the planning stages and is seeking investment. Therefore, the studio does not yet see a suitable time to begin production. Nagano also stated that he hopes Studio Durian will produce works in various genres in the future.
Synopsis of the feature film project:
A boy lives a peaceful life in a small village deep in the mountains, but suddenly one day, an Oni appears and takes everything from him. So he embarks on a journey to follow them and rescue the people who were kidnapped. After a long journey, he comes across a vast colony of millions of Oni, known as "Oni Hill".
Studio Durian revealed “Shishigari” (Lion Hunter) as a short film in April 2019. Kiyotaka Oshiyama (Flip Flappers, Devilman: CryBaby ep 05 and 08) directed the short, and was also credited for the story concept, script, and animation. Furthermore, voice actress Megumi Han voiced the unnamed main character, known only as “Boy”.

Description of the short film by Durian studio:
Deep in the northern mountains, there are people who live with the blessings of the mountains. A boy, coming of age, embarks on a journey for his first hunt. He needs to find the "Kuroshishi". The mountain is a place where life and death are separated by a thin paper line, and sometimes, nature shows its prey.
Studio Durian was founded in 2017, with Kiyotaka Oshiyama as representative director.
