In recent episodes of the 3rd season of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba , Nezuko once again assumed her demon transformation while fighting alongside Tanjiro . However, some fans feel the anime went too far by attempting to sexualize a young girl like Nezuko. Just to remind you, the scene in question involves spoilers for the anime.

Demon Slayer – Fans criticize the anime for sexualizing Nezuko

Since becoming a demon, Nezuko has gained the power to alter her body size. However, in the Entertainment District arc, she adopted a new transformation that causes her to grow into an adult woman. In the Blacksmith Village arc, Nezuko reverted to this transformation to fight against the High Demons, but some fans don't think the way the anime portrays the character is accurate.

This happens because some viewers see this transformation as a way for Demon Slayer to sexualize a child character as an adult woman. So fans took the debate to Twitter to discuss whether Nezuko's adult form is wrong or not.

Check out the reviews:

  • Demon Slayer would have been much better if Nezuko had to fight against her murderous impulses after being transformed into a demon, instead of somehow developing the mentality of a four-year-old girl who acts like a dog.
  • She looks and acts like a little girl and suddenly has large breasts when she gains demonic powers? Very strange and disgusting.
  • The fact that Daki is 13 years old too, ahh I just don't know. People rarely criticize the female cast of Demon Slayer because of great characters like Shinobu, but I think we need to acknowledge that even the authors make these mistakes.
  • She literally turns into a child too, she can develop her body in any way possible and yet, the moment you see her breasts, you start having a fit of rage?

Synopsis

Tanjiro awakens from a coma after defeating Upper Moon 6 in the Entertainment District and needs to go to the blacksmith village to forge a new sword, as his old weapon was damaged. However, on the way, he encounters new demons who are under orders from Muzan, the main villain of the story, to kill the blacksmiths. Without the blacksmiths, the demon slayers will have no swords to fight the demons. So Tanjiro and his friends must fight the Upper Moon demons again to stop them.

Thus, the first season of Kimetsu no Yaiba premiered in April 2019 , becoming a successful phenomenon with the film. Finally, the second season premiered on December 5 , 2021 in Japan. Furthermore, the third season premiered on Crunchyroll after the release of the film To the Swordsmith Village – World Tour on February 2 in Japan.
