Se ha anunciado que Ghost in the Shell tendrá un nuevo manga, titulado Ghost in the Shell: The Human Algorithm, escrito por Jun'ichi Fujisaku e ilustrado por Hiroki Yoshimoto.

Además, el manga se centrará en la Sección 9 tras la desaparición del Mayor. La historia seguirá a Togusa, Batou, Azuma, Ishikawa y un nuevo personaje llamado Tsunagi.
Finalmente, Ghost in the Shell: The Human Algorithm será publicado por Young Magazine el 20 de septiembre.
