Publisher indie.io and developer Cosmoscouts have officially announced that Moon Mystery, a first-person sci-fi adventure with shooter and exploration elements, will be released for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on September 18, 2025. The title has been available for PC via Steam since October 28, 2024.

Moon Mystery puts players in control of a lone astronaut who, after losing contact with Earth, embarks on an intergalactic journey filled with dangers, enigmas, and dark discoveries. The Moon, our closest celestial neighbor, is the starting point for a captivating narrative that spans different planets and unknown dimensions.
What to expect from Moon Mystery
The game combines first-person shooters, platforming, hostile environment exploration, and environmental puzzles. From the outset, the player must manage limited resources, such as oxygen and ammunition, while traversing treacherous areas and solving the mysteries left by a previous failed mission.
Among the main gameplay highlights are the ability to pilot a variety of vehicles—including spaceships, lunar rovers, radio-controlled cars, and even submarines—as well as face robotic enemies and mysterious creatures. Furthermore, the game also introduces an AI system that accompanies the player on the journey, offering an extra layer of narrative and immersion.
The campaign revolves around discovering what went wrong on humanity's first permanent lunar base. The Moon, once seen as a symbol of scientific advancement, reveals itself to be an inhospitable environment full of dangers. It's up to the player to connect the dots, solve puzzles, and survive the challenges of a mission that should never have happened.
Moon Mystery Availability
Moon Mystery will be available digitally on the PlayStation Store and Microsoft Store. However, there's no word yet on a physical release or Portuguese localization.
