Shinichirō Watanabe ( Cowboy Bebop is directing , with Akemi Hayashi ( BANANA FISH ) handling character design and Chad Stahelski ( John Wick ) supervising the action scenes. Production is by the renowned studio MAPPA (Attack on Titan), in collaboration with SOLA Entertainment .
What is the story of the anime Lazarus?
The story takes place in the year 2052 , where a miracle painkiller called Hapuna, created by Dr. Skinner, hides a deadly side effect: three years after its use, it leads to the patient's death. Now, a group of five agents, including the professional fugitive Axel , must find Skinner and the antidote in just 30 days.
Therefore, the opening, with the powerful track “Vortex” by Kamasi Washington , is a multi-movement jazz spectacle. The Boo Radleys band provides the soundtrack for the closing with the song “Lazarus,” which directly inspired the creation of the work. Mai Yoneyama directed, designed, and storyboarded the final sequence.
However, the Japanese distributor will release the Blu-ray & DVD Vol. 1 on May 21st, including a 100-page booklet and bonus videos.
