Akihiro Ishihara , the mind behind The Idolmaster and Umamusume , has decided to confront the wave of censorship in video games. Recently, the director stated that his new project, Valkyrie Tune: Synthesis of Souls , will not undergo any alterations to appeal to the Western market.

Ishihara assures that the essence of Japanese Visual Novels will remain intact. According to the creator, trying to "soften" the content for a global audience harms the original experience. Therefore, fans can expect classic anime and bishojo aesthetics without filters or unnecessary cuts.

Meanwhile, the plot introduces us to Rei, a protagonist who awakens in a futuristic city under a dome. The player interacts with six female fighters, blending romance and science fiction. Furthermore, Ishihara believes that human emotions transcend cultural barriers. Therefore, he argues that Japanese authenticity appeals more to players than political conformity.

Finally, the title will arrive on Steam and Nintendo Switch in the summer of 2026. This firm stance from an industry veteran brings hope for the preservation of original otaku
