Chapter 199 of Dandadan begins with the revelation that the group managed to survive the storm, and the plane is still flying despite the severe damage. The initial relief quickly gives way to tension when the group realizes that Zuma has disappeared during the chaos.

Daiki takes control
While the crew tries to reorganize, Daiki surprises everyone by requesting access to the cockpit. Despite being visibly injured and emotionally shaken, he insists he can help, revealing that his father was a pilot and that he grew up using flight simulators.
Initially skeptical, the group eventually trusts him. With the pilot weakened, Daiki takes control of the aircraft. In a flashback, he recalls the criticism and humiliation he suffered in childhood, when they said he would never amount to anything. But Daiki himself states: being a garbage collector, for example, is also a dignified job. This statement marks a turning point in his self-esteem and his role in the plot.
Meanwhile, Toru experiences a moment of intense vulnerability. He admits that he always underestimated Daiki, but that it was Daiki who made him see his own worth. In one of the most moving monologues of the chapter, Toru says that he has considered death, feeling that he made no difference in the world. He acknowledges his mistakes, wants to apologize to Daiki, and promises to be a better man, someone kind, strong, and willing to help others.

A new enemy and the leap into the void in Dandadan
While all this is happening, the group being carried by the flying worm encounters a new problem: they are captured by grotesque villains who intend to use them as human sacrifices.
The situation worsens even further when a giant flying shark appears in the sky and attacks the worm, forcing all the characters to jump into the air, a fall from mid-air without parachutes.
During the fall, the characters try to improvise ways to survive. Zuma uses his powers to act as a human "parachute," but the combined weight prevents him from forming wings. The situation seems hopeless, until… The plane piloted by Daiki reappears, visually tracking his friends in the sky. The team in the cockpit recognizes their falling allies and initiates the rescue maneuver. With precision and combined effort, the characters manage to approach the aircraft, clearing the way for their reunion.
Closing: towards the climax of Dandadan
The final page shows the heroes being rescued in mid-air, with Vamola and Momo leading the operation amidst screams and chaos. The scene concludes with a dramatic panel, in which the characters cling to the plane while a grotesque threat lingers outside the fuselage.
“To be continued” appears with the plane still surrounded by danger, promising an intense continuation.
