Palworld has been making headlines! In a recent interview with Famitsu , Pocketpair , the developer of the controversial (and beloved) Palworld, opened up about the challenges they face with the game's sudden success.
- Cell is featured in the new trailer for Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero
- Fate/Extra Record will be released in 2025 for Switch, PS4, PS5, and PC
With a small Pocketpair team, Palworld became an instant hit. The developers admit they didn't expect so much popularity and, of course, were overjoyed. But, in reality, the success brought some problems. With so many players online at the same time, the multiplayer mode constantly crashed, overloading the servers.

The interview also recalls tweet in February 2024, where he joked that server costs would bankrupt the company. At the time, the February bill reached 70,530,000 yen (approximately R$ 380,000.00), with most of it related to data traffic. The more people connected, the more expensive it gets! The good news is that Pocketpair is already working on optimizing its servers, which will reduce costs and allow the implementation of the long-awaited cross-play (cross-platform gaming).
Therefore, despite the challenges, the developers are proud of the multiplayer system. According to them, considering the speed of the launch, the servers remained quite stable. Navigation received praise for its ease of use, with all the information available on the same screen (something rare in Japanese games, according to the interview).
Finally, stay tuned for news about cross-play! In the meantime, Palworld awaits you on Xbox Series X/One, macOS, and PC.
