So to put it into context, in the movie set after the first season, Jujutsu Kaisen 0, Geto seemingly died, but somehow came back to life in the main series, with the final episode of the second season now revealing exactly what's going on in the villain's troubled head.

One minute. That was the time Suguru Geto articulated in the Game that he needed to deal with Gojo. The villain threatened Gojo to buy the time needed for the technique to work. Unable to take Gojo's life, Geto used this cursed power to lock the teacher away, creating a reunion between the two former friends that revealed exactly what was going through Suguru's mind.

In the film Jujutsu Kaisen 0 , Geto actually died and did not return from the grave to threaten Yuji Itadori, his friends, and the world at large in the present. As shown in this dramatic reunion, Gojo deciphers that he is not his former friend, but rather an impostor posing as Geto. Opening the top of his skull, the antagonist reveals that his cursed power is to switch bodies, taking on the structure of his host and simultaneously taking control of their powers.

Although Geto is confirmed to have died in the first film, many mysteries still surround the villain. Who is controlling Geto's body? With Gojo about to be sealed away forever, Yuji and his friends will have to solve this problem as the Shibuya Incident Arc continues.

Synopsis:

The story follows Yuji Itadori, a high school student who becomes involved with a secret society of sorcerers called Jujutsu Kaisen, who fight curses—evil beings that haunt the living world. To protect his friends and the innocent, Yuji decides to join the jujutsu sorcerers as a student-in-training under the tutelage of Satoru Gojo, the strongest sorcerer of all.

Finally, the first season of the anime premiered in October 2020 and had 24 episodes animated by the MAPPA .
