Hige wo Soru | Anime reveals staff and character designs

The official Twitter account for the anime Hige wo Soru. Soshite Joshi Kosei o Hirou. (I Shaved My Beard. Then I Pick Up a High School Girl.) inspired by the light novel by author Shimesaba and illustrator Booota revealed the anime's main staff and the designs of the main characters, Sayu and Yoshida .

Manabu Kamikita is directing the anime at Project No.9 (Pastel Memories, Super HxEros). Takayuki Noguchi is doing the character design. Deko Akao ( Noragami ) is writing the script, while Dream Shift (Ryuuou no Oshigoto!) is producing the anime.

Synopsis

Salaryman Yoshida has been in love with his coworker, Airi Gotou, for five years. Despite finally arranging a date with her, his confession is promptly rejected. Drunk and disappointed, he stumbles home, only to find a high school girl sitting by the side of the road. The girl, needing a place to stay for the night, tries to seduce Yoshida. Despite rejecting her advances, he invites her to his apartment.

The next morning, the girl, introducing herself as Sayu Ogiwara, reveals that she fled Hokkaido for Tokyo. During her six months on the run, she traded sexual favors for a roof over her head. Yoshida, however, remains indifferent to her seduction. Instead, he asks her to do a different kind of work—one that involves washing dishes, laundry, and housekeeping. And so, a touching relationship between a heartbroken adult and a runaway high school girl begins.

Shimebasa began publishing Hige o Soru. Soshite Joshi Kosei o Hirou on the Kakuyomu website in 2017, and Kadokawa Shoten published the first volume with Booota's illustrations in Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko in 2018, totaling 4 volumes to date.

The light novel also gained a manga adaptation in November 2018 by Kadokawa Shoten in the Monthly Shonen Ace illustrated by Imaru Adachi, the manga has 3 volumes so far.
