After a long period of silence, the American live-action Death Note has some news. In a recent interview with Bleeding Cool , Shane Black (Iron Man 3) stated that one of his next projects at Warner Bros. will be an adaptation of the manga created by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata. The director's involvement in the production, which many thought would never happen, is no surprise; Black's name has been linked to the film since 2011. It remains to be seen whether the idea of removing the shinigami Ryuk from the story will be maintained. In Brazil, Death Note is known for its anime airing on the now-defunct Animax channel, and the manga, which will receive a special edition called Black Edition, is published by JBC .
