As discussed in previous posts, several changes have occurred in the doujinshi , as well as in the video game segment, due to the widespread digitization process. This change has naturally resulted in a reduction in sales of physical versions, although they are still sustained by mass events and online sales. Electronic doujinshi, in turn, is progressively gaining ground to become dominant in the market.

Company begins banning hentai of Sousou no Frieren

FANZA and DLsite, stand out . Several artists reported on their social media that FANZA notified them of a total ban on the production of adult doujinshi based on the franchise "Sousou no Frieren (Frieren: Beyond Journey's End)".

The artist “Shiraki (@wwood126)” shared an email he received from FANZA announcing these new guidelines:

Thank you for your continued support, this is FANZA Doujin Support. Thank you very much for registering your work for sale through our service. We are very sorry, but according to the wishes of the copyright holders, we have decided to refrain from managing works that parody the following elements: “Sousou no Frieren”. We inform you that we have changed the status of the works in question to “Suspended” for the reasons stated above. Thank you for your continued support.

Another artist, “小黒唯 (@ogro_yui) ”, commented on:

FANZA banned Sousou no Frieren "because they are commercial doujinshi" and "because online sales are dangerous." Remember that searching for a term on Google can often cause the search engine to show a doujinshi instead of the original manga. Currently, sales are still allowed on DLsite, Toranoana, and Melonbooks. Why did only FANZA make this decision? Perhaps they announced it before everyone else?.

Finally, comment on what you think about this debate.
