After more than a decade of waiting, Kenichi: The Strongest Disciple is officially back. Author Shun Matsuena announced, via his X account (formerly Twitter), that the manga will receive a sequel titled Kenichi 2: Masters Arc . The new series premieres on March 25th Sunday Webry platform .

The original manga concluded in September 2014, totaling 61 volumes . In its final stretch, the story featured a time jump showing Kenichi already as a master. Therefore, it's still unclear whether the new arc will explore events after this conclusion or follow an earlier phase of the protagonist's life, something suggested by the promotional illustration released.

Meanwhile, the anime Kenichi: The Strongest Disciple remains licensed by Crunchyroll. The television adaptation only covers part of the manga, with the story advancing beyond the anime from chapter 145 onwards. The OVA series, however, concludes at chapter 196.

Known for its blend of martial arts, comedy, and intense action scenes, Kenichi has sold over 12 million copies . Therefore, the return of the series promises to excite fans of fighting anime and manga.
