The fifth anniversary event for “Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These,” announced this Sunday (05) that the production of a sequel has been authorized.

Synopsis
In humanity's distant future, two interstellar states – the monarchical Galactic Empire and the democratic Free Planets Alliance – are engaged in an endless war. In the midst of this endless struggle, both nations decline, but the emergence of two geniuses will change history forever.

The top 10 novels of “The Legend of the Galactic Heroes” have 15 million copies in circulation and earned Tanaka the Seiun Award. In addition to “Legend of the Galactic Heroes,” Tanaka also wrote the original novels that inspired the anime projects “The Heroic Legend of Arslan,” “Ryoko's Case File,” “Sohryuden – Legend of the Dragon Kings” and “Tytania.”
Finally, the first season of the anime, titled “The Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These Kaikō,” aired as a 12-episode series that premiered in April 2018.
