Nintendo is facing a new crisis, and to combat this, Satoru Iwata announced that the company is considering a new business model focused on smartphones and tablets.
““We can’t continue a business without winning. We are thinking about a new business structure,” said Iwata. “Given the market that smartphones represent today, we will naturally study how these smart devices can be used to reach more players. It’s not as simple as allowing Mario to be played on a smartphone.”.”
Iwata reiterated that, despite taking responsibility for the company's delicate situation, he has no intention of leaving his post and will remain with the company in order to recover as quickly as possible.
