Game director and developer Keiji Inafune, responsible for franchises like Rockman and Megaman, commented on his work on Mighty No. 9 on a gaming website. Inafune said he is in negotiations with writer and producer Tim Carter live-action adaptation of the game Mighty No. 9.
Tim Carter was the writer for Sleeping Dogs and the first season of Mortal Kombat: Legacy . According to him, the production team is in the early stages of creating a digital series for the successor to Mega Man .
He commented that he initially had doubts about how he would transition the character to a production of this type, but Keiji Inafune reassured him. “ I was a little apprehensive about it at first, until I got his notes and thought, 'Man, you should work at Pixar! '”
Inafune said that Mighty No. 9 opened up a range of possible adaptations in comics, manga, anime, films, and even TV series. He stated that further discussions about a live-action adaptation will take place after the company receives a script.
With over 3.5 million raised in its October crowdfunding campaign, the game Mighty No. 9 will be released for PS Vita, Nintendo 3DS, PC, Mac, Linux, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
