My name is Rafael Alves, known as Shinzo. I created the AnimeNew website in 2009 to offer news about anime, manga, and games directly from Japan.

Through social media, we were surprised to learn that the light novel 'Once Upon a Witch's Death' (Aru Majo ga Shinu Made), written by Saka and illustrated by Chorefuji , will soon be getting an anime adaptation.

Therefore, fans also learned about the production cast. Although the premiere is expected to happen sometime in 2025.

'Once Upon a Witch's Death' synopsis:

Meg Raspberry, a witch apprentice who has just turned 17, is suddenly informed by her mentor, Faust, one of the Seven Wise Women of the magical world, that she has only one year to live. But Meg has been cursed with the "prophecy of death." There is only one way to avoid the death caused by the curse: to create the "Seed of Life," which grants immortality to whoever possesses it. Therefore, to create this seed, tears of joy are needed—the tears shed when someone is truly happy. "So, how many tears do I need to collect?" "From a thousand people." "...What?"

Therefore, 'Once Upon a Witch's Death' was serialized as a web novel published on Kakuyomu from October 2019 to August 2022. Later, ASCII Media Works acquired it and began publishing it under its Dengeki no Shin Bungei light novel imprint in December 2021. Additionally, a manga adaptation illustrated by Kenu Amearare began serialization in ASCII Media Works' Dengeki Comic Regulus magazine in March 2023.
