After more than two decades since it was first mentioned in Eiichiro Oda, Elbaf finally makes its appearance. This is the second arc of the final saga of One Piece, and fans are beginning to see important revelations about the history of the world as the Straw Hat Pirates advance toward the coveted One Piece. However, this journey may take longer than they imagined.

Elbaf's warning: "Time Wasted"
Chapter 1132 of One Piece shows all the Straw Hat Pirates reunited on Elbaf, but it also introduces a mysterious message from Louis Arnote, the original adventurer who named Little Garden. In his message, he warns: “Adventurers, don’t regret the time wasted here… Don’t stay longer than necessary.”
This “lost time” is noteworthy. The warning doesn't seem to be solely about enjoying the island's majestic surroundings. It suggests something more enigmatic, as if Elbaf operates on a different timescale than the rest of the world. The island's unique geography and climate already indicate that there is something special about its nature.

A new dynamic for time travel
The first time skip in One Piece brought significant changes for the Straw Hat Pirates. Now, it seems the next skip will alter the rest of the world while Luffy and his crew remain isolated on Elbaf. Just like in Wano, where important events occurred in the rest of the seas during the arc, Elbaf appears to be a uniquely isolated location.
The giants of Elbaf show little interest in news from the outside world, except for a few specific events, such as Luffy's defeat of Big Mom in Wano. Furthermore, Arnote's message hints that time may pass faster on the island than in the rest of the world. This would create a different dynamic, where the world would advance while the Straw Hats remain virtually unchanged.
The Future of the World in One Piece
's final message Dr. Vegapunk stating that the seas are rising ever higher, the world may be drastically different when Luffy and his crew leave Elbaf. If the years really do pass faster on the island, other Emperors may take advantage of this to get closer to the One Piece.
We still don't know the exact impact of this time dilation phenomenon, but it's clear that the final saga of One Piece holds great surprises. All that remains is to follow how this mysterious island will shape the future of the seas and the Straw Hat Pirates' journey.
