10 Movie References in the Chainsaw Man Anime Opening

The highly anticipated Chainsaw Man anime premiered , bringing with it the excellent opening theme "KICK BACK" sung by Kenshi Yonezu. However, one detail caught the attention of fans and otakus: several references to important films . The opening theme was produced by Shingo Yamashita, who also worked on other famous anime, including Jujutsu Kaisen , the second opening theme for Ousama Ranking (Ranking of Kings), and the thirteenth opening theme for Naruto Shippuden .

Therefore, the series premiered today, October 11th with animation by the MAPPA (Attack on Titan, Jujutsu Kaizen).

Synopsis:

The story takes place in a world where demons are born from human fears. While they are generally dangerous and malevolent, humans can form contracts with demons to harness some of their power. Denji is a depressed young man trying to repay his late father's debt to the yakuza by selling several of his organs and working as a demon hunter. Denji also possesses a dog-like demon named Pochita, who resembles a chainsaw and assists Denji in his work.

Finally, Fujimoto launched the manga in Weekly Shonen Jump in December 2018, finishing the first arc in December 2020 with 11 volumes.
