SAND LAND project announced on Wednesday that Akira Toriyama will receive an animated film, which will premiere in Japanese theaters on August 18. Sunrise , Kamikaze Douga , and Anima are producing the animation.

The Sand Land manga is a short series that Toriyama serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from May to August 2000. Shueisha published one volume of the manga in November 2000.
Synopsis
Humans and demons coexist in a hostile place. When the river that supplied the entire world dries up, the King takes control of all remaining water distribution. Thus, the old sheriff Lao decides to set out in search of the legendary Fountain of Dreams , accompanied by the demon Beelzebub and his friend Thief.
