Bandai Namco has released a new trailer for Captain Tsubasa 2: World Fighters , showcasing the main game modes of the new title inspired by Yoichi Takahashi 's classic manga . The video highlights different forms of competition and customization that will be available to players.

The game will feature 22 national teams and over 110 playable characters. Therefore, the aim is to bring together well-known athletes from the franchise in dynamic matches, showcasing special techniques and games inspired by the universe created by Takahashi over the last few decades.
The game is scheduled for release on August 28, 2026, on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S , and PC via Steam. Those who pre-order will receive exclusive cosmetic items, including the 2026 Japanese National Team uniform, the World Youth uniform, and an early access content pack.
Originally published between 1981 and 1988 in Weekly Shonen Jump, Captain Tsubasa became one of the most influential sports manga series. The series has been adapted into anime, films, and OVAs, and has inspired generations of soccer players and fans around the world.
Finally, the Ultimate Edition of the new game will include extra uniforms, exclusive themes for the main menu, ball customizations, and the season pass.
