The publisher Kadokawa has confirmed the anime adaptation of the light novel Matsurika Kanriden ( The Legend of Bureaucrat Matsurika ) , written by Rinne Ishida . The work is known as a kind of "Chinese Cinderella," mixing political intrigue, romance, and social climbing.

Published since 2017 by the B's Log Bunko, the story follows a young palace servant who, thanks to her prodigious memory, attracts the attention of the emperor. Its success was immediate, and in 2018, the series received a manga adaptation in the magazine Monthly Princess, illustrated by Waka Takase. Now, in celebration of the imprint's 19th anniversary, the long-awaited anime adaptation has been officially announced.

To mark the announcement, a special PV featuring original artwork from the novel was released. Additionally, author Rinne Ishida shared her gratitude to the fans, artists, and staff involved in the work, highlighting the excitement of seeing her creation come to life in a new medium. Izumi (character design) and Waka Takase (manga artist) released commemorative illustrations.
