Antiquarian Bookshop Bible will have an anime adaptation in 2027

Kadokawa has confirmed that the novel series Antiquarian Bookshop Biblia's Case Files ( Biblia Koshodō no Jiken Techō ) will receive an anime En Mikami 's work will premiere in 2027, produced by CloverWorks .

The series will be directed by Mamoru Kanbe , known for works such as The Perfect Insider . He will be assisted by Ayako Kurata . The script will be written by Toshiya Ono , while Jun Nakai will handle the character design and animation supervision.

Synopsis

The story follows Shioriko Shinokawa, the owner of an antiquarian bookstore, and Daisuke Goura, her assistant who is unable to read due to dizziness. Despite this, the pair solve cases using logic and literary knowledge.

Biblia Koshodo no Jiken Techo is a mystery series focused on ancient books. The work began in 2011 and has already sold over 6.4 million copies. Furthermore, it has been nominated for the Japan Mystery Writers Association award on two occasions, solidifying its place among mystery novels in Japan.

Before the anime, the story had already been adapted into a live-action series in 2013 and a film released in 2018. An animated film project was announced in 2017, but never received further details and was ultimately not released.

Finally, the franchise also has three manga published between 2012 and 2025. The 11th volume of the novel was released in March 2024, marking the continuation of the second phase of the story.
