The world's most famous Gauls are getting a 3D version in theaters. Asterix and the Domain of the Gods is the new animated film based on the comics about the Gauls created by René Goscinny (script) and Albert Uderzo (drawings).

The film will be an adaptation of an album published in 1971. In it, the Roman emperor Caesar attempts to conquer Asterix's village by building a city around it. Asterix and his discreet friend Obelix fight with the help of their elixir to protect their village in Gaul.
The 3D animated film will be released in French cinemas in 2014, with no release date yet for Brazil.
