Best Shonen Sunday Manga by Japanese

Shonen Sunday is a popular Japanese manga that has been in publication since 1959 and has been home to several popular titles.

The Japanese website gooranking conducted a survey that collected votes from 14,846 users on the question “What is the best manga in the history of Shonen Sunday?” See the top 10 below.

1st place: Detective Conan (2,407 votes)

Detective Conan takes the top spot in the rankings with 2,407 votes. However, the manga by Gosho Aoyama has been in publication since 1994 and is approaching its 100th volume. The series has an anime with nearly 1,000 episodes and several films.
Synopsis : Detective Conan is the story of Kudo Shinichi, a young detective prodigy who, by chance, was investigating a suspicious exchange between two men dressed in black when he was shot in the back and, defenseless, used as a guinea pig for a drug that was supposed to kill him without a trace, but instead had a very different effect: it caused his body to physically regress, as if he were a seven-year-old again. 2nd place: Ushio to Tora (1,793 votes)

Ushio to Tora

In second place is Ushio to Tora, a work by Kazuhiro Fujita (who also has another work in the top 10 at number 9, Karakuri Circus). The 33-volume manga has over 30 million copies in circulation, an OVA released in the 1990s, and a 39-episode anime released in 2015 (which is officially available on Crunchyroll).

Synopsis : Long ago, a ferocious monster terrorized the land, until a samurai wielding the legendary "Beast Spear" sealed it away and restored peace. 500 years later, a boy named Ushio Aotsuki accidentally encounters the monster in a secret basement of his family's temple. 3rd place: Konjiki no Gash Bell (1,263 votes)

Gash Bell (known in Brazil as Zatch Bell) is a manga written by Makoto Raiku and serialized from 2001 to 2007. The work was released in an anime dubbed in Brazil.
Synopsis : Every thousand years, one hundred demons from a parallel world called the Demon World are sent to Earth to battle each other, hoping that the last one standing will become king of their world. They carry with them a book written in strange writing that, in fact, contains undisclosed spells that unleash a hidden power of the mamodo; when awakened, these spells become readable, and the human guardian can activate them. Over time, through battles, more spells are revealed in the book, and thus the mamodo grows stronger. The power of these spells also depends on the will of the mamodo and its guardian.
