Let's get to the first impressions at the start of this season. Contrary to what one might believe, Black Bullet surprised me a lot with its premiere episode. The science fiction genre has always drawn me in both big and small productions, including anime, movies, games, etc.
Directed by Kojima Masayuki (Abenobashi Mahō Shōtengai), the anime features a simple narrative, yet a story that appeals to fans of the genre. Black Bullet takes place in 2021, a perhaps near future, where humanity has been defeated by a species of viral parasites known as Gastrea, and all have been exiled to a small territory, living in utter despair.
Rentaro boy skilled in both breastfeeding and hand-to-hand combat, more like a detective. a clever young man and a member of the "Civil Security," a large organization specializing in fighting the Gastrea monsters. Located near Tokyo, he is used to complete various Hard-level missions.
In the second act of the anime, we are introduced to his work partner, the energetic little girl Aihara Enju, Rentaro also has to deal with everyday situations to raise the innocent Enju , practically becoming a father to her. With pleasing art style and animation, Black Bullet doesn't disappoint for a first season opening episode. A story that involves action, demons, horror, martial arts, novel, seinen, and science fiction, I recommend everyone spend their sacred 24 minutes watching this new saga.
