In episode 19 of Bleach, Rukia crosses paths with As Nodt , the Sternritter bearing the letter F—Fear—and the same enemy who defeated and nearly killed her brother, Byakuya . However, she has become stronger thanks to her training in Division Zero and has also become immune to As Nodt's fear-inducing power. As her Zanpakutou released ice, Rukia entered a state of "death" upon reaching a sub-zero temperature.
As Nodt's power proved useless against her because her fear doesn't work on undead beings. With her brother's support, Rukia regained control of the situation and unleashed her newly discovered Bankai. Hakka no Togame creates a mantle of ice around her body, freezing anything that touches it or enters its field. However, Byakuya says that Rukia still needs to train to better control such a powerful Bankai.
Synopsis:
Shortly after a series of Hollow murders and disappearances in the Rukongai district, Ichigo and his friends discover that the Quincy are indeed alive. To jog their memory, the Quincy are a supernatural order of humans who can manipulate reishi and kill Hollows instead of purifying them like the Soul Society. Everyone believed the Gotei 13 exterminated these enemies 1,000 years ago, but the Quincy remained in hiding, awaiting the return of their king, Yhwach.
