In episode 19 of Bleach, Rukia crosses paths with As Nodt , the Sternritter who bears the letter F-Fear and the same enemy who defeated and almost killed her brother, Byakuya . However, she became stronger thanks to the Zero Division's training and was even immune to As Nodt's power of fear. As her Zanpakuto released ice, Rukia entered a state of “death” as she reached a temperature below freezing.

As Nodt's power became useless against her because her fear does not work on dead beings. With her brother's support, Rukia regained control of the situation and released her newfound Bankai. Hakka no Togame creates a blanket of ice around her body, which freezes anything that touches her or is in her field. However, Byakuya says that Rukia still needs to train to better control a Bankai as powerful as this.

Synopsis:

Soon after a series of Hollow murders and several disappearances in the Rukongai district, Ichigo and his friends discover that the Quincys were actually alive. The Quincys, to jog your memory, are from the order of supernatural humans, who can manipulate reishi and kill Hollows instead of purifying them like the Soul Society. Everyone believed that the Gotei 13 exterminated these enemies 1000 years ago, but the Quincys stayed hidden and waited for the return of their king, Yhwach.
