Blue Giant – Film is confirmed for release in 2023

The official website for the film adaptation of Shinichi Ishizuka 's Blue Giant manga revealed on Wednesday that the film will be released in Japan starting February 17, 2023.

The film was originally scheduled to release this year, and the site also revealed a new look and crew for the film.

Synopsis

Miyamoto Dai, a student with a passion for basketball, changes his life the first time he sees a live jazz performance. The incredible music touches him deeply, and he immediately decides to dedicate himself to the saxophone. He has no skills, no formal training, and no idea what he's up against, but his obsession drives him to play that instrument day after day. Will passion be enough to become the player of his dreams? This award-winning manga by Shinichi Ishizuka, compiled into five omnibus volumes for its English-language debut, is a perfect drama about the power of music.

Yuzuru Tachikawa is directing the film at NUT studio. NUMBER 8, while the editor of the Blue Giant manga and story director of the Blue Giant Supreme manga, is writing the script. TOHO Animation will distribute the film.
